During his year long sabbatical in New Zealand in 2017, Edward was based at MWLR Long Term Ecology Laboratory and worked on two main topics: 1) Palaeoecology of peatland ecosystems in New Zealand and the peri-Antarctic Islands; 2). Biodiversity and biogeography of testate amoebae in New Zealand and the subantarctic islands.
